We are halfway through the month of February and I’m already counting down the days for the beginning of spring. Until then, the weather is still cold most mornings and nights, which makes it the perfect time to wear a faux fur coat over your favorite shirt. This is the first faux coat (I would never buy a real one, animal cruelty sucks) I have ever owned, I got it as a birthday gift and it quickly became my favorite clothing item of the season.

Love at first sight.
That’s all the words I need to describe my first encounter with this pair of boots, so naturally I just went into the store and added them to my wardrobe without regret. This has been one of the few impulse purchases that I have not come to regret, not even a little bit, even though I wasn’t sure how to style them at first, I have discovered that they are a pretty good statement piece to take simple outfits to a whole new level. You might have seen me wearing these babies before on my 23th birthday post or on my Instagram.
When Pantone first named Ultra Violet, a deep purple shade as the color of the year, I didn’t know what to think. The first thing that came to my mind was “wow, that’s a very vibrant color”, specially from the fashion point of view..
Ultra Violet is so different from Millennial Pink, which ruled 2017. We can still see Millennial Pink everywhere, from clothing stores all the way to decor on restaurants and famous hotels. Ultra Violet hasn’t been as popular on the runway or fashion magazines, but it is an absolute winner when it comes to street style.
Being someone that leans towards outfits that are more on the minimalistic side of the spectrum, I absolutely spent some time debating wether it was worth it to invest in Ultra Violet clothes or any other piece on this color. My conclusion was that it’s always great to refresh your wardrobe with things from a different style or color. It’s like a breath of fresh air.
If you’re like me and don’t usually wear really bright or bold colors like this one, the easiest way to begin using them is with a versatile item, like a long coat. This way, you’ll be able to put together a very simple outfit, like a complete monochromatic black look, or something really casual like jeans and a t-shirt and then get that pop of color by wearing the violet coat on top.

If there’s anything that I want to keep from 2017, is long plated skirts. I believe that this item that just recently came back from the grave is very versatile, you can use it pretty much during any season, you can dress it up or make it as casual as you wish.

I still cannot believe that 2017 has come to an end! Looking back at my 2017 resolutions I can tell you that I miserably failed at bullet journaling, reading a book per month and pretty much everything that has to do with organization. For 2018 I will give another shot to bullet journaling (or just a regular planner) but most importantly, trying to meet the goals that are set on paper. I’ve been watching so many Youtube videos about the calligraphy used for these journals,
which I honestly suck at, that being said, I will try my very best at it and report back to you. Anyways, that’s not the reason you’re here, so let’s get to the good stuff. I’m going to show you some of my favorite things of 2017, I decided that I wouldn’t put this post in only one category like “beauty” products, because there’s so much more things that I loved this year.
